The Museum

The worship of Virgin Mary and of Saint Michael the Archangel

The Carmelite Museum carefully preserves the cultural, religious, and artistic heritage connected to the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, passed down by the Carmelite Fathers since the foundation of the Convent in 1521. Through its exhibition path, the Museum narrates the deep connection of the religious site with the Cult of St. Michael the Archangel, the devotion to Our Lady of Mount Carmel, the historical presence of the Carmelite Order, and its link with the community and territory of Mesagne. We invite you to explore the Museum, an engaging journey through relics of the past that unveil the historical, cultural, social, and religious roots of our region.
